Specifying timeouts and retries for the build process

If problems are encountered during the build process, you can specify how long the system waits before trying to perform the task again. You can also specify how many retries occur before the build process is stopped.

The build process has been set up with default settings and we recommend that you do not change these settings unless you have good reason to do so.

To specify timeouts and retries for the build process

  1. From the left-hand pane, expand Picture of the Computers icon Computers, then expand Picture of the Build icon Build and choose Picture of the Build Templates icon Build Templates.

  2. From the right-hand pane, right-click the build template and from the menu, choose Properties.

  3. Choose the Build Process tab.

  4. Select 'Choose specific timeouts and retries'.

  5. From the drop-down list, choose the build action.

  6. Specify the amount of time in minutes for the timeout.

  7. Specify the number of retries.

  8. Click the OK button.

Note

  • You can also open a selected build template's properties by choosing Picture of the Properties button in the toolbar, or from the File menu choosing Properties.
